What this site does
SunriseMoonPhase.com calculates sunrise, sunset, solar noon, day length, and the current moon phase for any city in the world, using its exact geographic coordinates and timezone.
How the numbers are calculated
Sunrise and sunset are computed with a standard low-precision solar-position model (the same approach used across the astronomy and prayer-time-calculation industry), accurate to within about a minute for almost any location. Moon phase is derived from the 29.53-day synodic month and is the same everywhere on Earth at a given moment — only the local calendar date of an event (like a full moon) depends on timezone.
